What We Believe

Since 1517
Go to Scripture Only

Scripture Only

We believe that the Bible should be the only source and corrective for theology.

Go to Faith Only

Faith Only

We believe that God calls us into a relationship of trust with Him. Our part of the relationship is to trust Him and His is to be trustworthy to us.

Go to Grace Only

Grace Only

We believe that God does everything for us in salvation. He saves us through His grace, His favor bestowed on mankind.

Go to Jesus Christ Only

Jesus Christ Only

We believe that Jesus is the only person who saves us, and is thus the only savior of the world. We try not to get in the way of that by playing God ourselves.

About Lutherans

Who are these people?
Lutherans are a Christian movement within the world wide Church

Lutherans are a Christian movement that began in the 1500's as a response to some abuses that were happening at the time in the Christian Church. That response was called the Reformation, and it attempted to call Christians back to their Biblical roots and source of what it means to be followers of Jesus. Since then, Lutherans have continued their movement by planting churches throughout the world and continuing to call people back to an understanding of Christianity that is centered on Jesus, taken straight from the Bible, acting in faith and trust, and received as a gift (grace) from God.

Jesus Christ

Savior, God, Man, Not technically a Lutheran
Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, Who was enfleshed as a human child. He lived a perfect and sinless life on our account. He was crucified on a cross, paying for our sins. He then rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, from where He will come again.

MARTIN LUTHER

Reformer, Pastor, Founder
Martin grew up in the late 1400’s and early 1500’s. He was studying to be a lawyer, but changed his path to become a monk. He then found some problems in the Church and set out to try to reform it back to being all about Jesus, Scripture, Faith, and Grace.
